CANADIAN ICON TOM OCHRANE TO RELEASE TWO ALBUMS IN U.S.

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Tom Cochrane — best known for hit songs “Life Is a Highway” and Red Rider’s “Lunatic Fringe”— will make two of his albums available in the U.S. on Friday, October 2. The Canadian rock icon will release his latest album Take It Home as well as 2006’s No Stranger for the first time in the U.S. on September 25, Cochrane will embark on a U.S. club tour kicking off in Londonderry, New Hampshire, with stops in Norfolk, Philadelphia and New York, with all shows to featuring an intimate acoustic performance. On his fifth solo release, No Stranger, Cochrane produced and mixed the album – which received a Juno Award nomination for Canadian Adult Alternative Album of the Year – at his studio in Northern Ontario. Take It Home, co-produced with longtime creative collaborator Bill Bell, is his first album of new material since No Stranger and explores new lyrical and sonic terrain while remaining grounded in the values that have made him one of Canada’s most beloved rock ‘n rollers of all time.

From early beginnings as a folk-based singer/songwriter playing the coffeehouses of Toronto’s in the early ’70s, Cochrane became the driving force in the adventurous rock group Red Rider prior to achieving massive international success (over six million copies sold worldwide and diamond-sales status at home) with breakthrough 1991 album Mad Mad World and its anthemic hit “Life Is A Highway.”
Over the course of a long and illustrious career now spanning more than 40 years, he has continued to create potent new material while cementing his place in the hearts of fans through crowd-pleasing performances and his unwavering work on behalf of humanitarian causes and organizations. An Order of Canada recipient and Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee, Cochrane has won eight Juno awards and numerous other industry honors, including the 2013 Allan Waters Humanitarian Award and a Grammy nomination. –
